A curriculum was developed by Clemson University with funding from the American Tree Farm System. The curriculum is designed to educate forestry students about working with family forest owners. In addition, students learn about certification and specifically working with the American Tree Farm System management plan. At the end of the course, students are trained to become Tree Farm Inspectors. The curriculum was designed to allow instructors to work with the entire program or to pull out pieces that will augment what is already being taught. This program will strengthen the bonds between local landowners and the future foresters. The program also includes a website for instructors to share information about teaching the material.
