GENERAL INFORMATION

GOALS
The conference provides an annual forum for the presentation and discussion of state-of-the-science HIV treatment and biomedical prevention adherence research, as well as current behavioral and clinical perspectives in practicum, within the context of achieving the maximum therapeutic and preventative benefit of antiretroviral therapy across the continuum of care.

TARGET AUDIENCE
The target audience for this conference includes physicians, nurses/nurse-practitioners, pharmacists, psychologists, behavioral researchers, social scientists, epidemiologists, social workers, case managers, AIDS service organization (ASO) staff, and allied healthcare and lay professionals working in the field of HIV medicine.

PHYSICIAN CONTINUING EDUCATION
Accreditation Statement: This activity has been planned and implemented in accordance with the Essential Areas and policies of the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME) through the joint sponsorship of Postgraduate Institute for Medicine (PIM) and IAPAC.  The Postgraduate Institute for Medicine is accredited by the American Council for Continuing Medical Education to provide continuing medical education for physicians.

Credit Designation Statement: The Postgraduate Institute for Medicine designates this live activity for a maximum of 19.75 AMA PRA Category 1 CreditsTM. Physicians should claim only the credit commensurate with the extent of their participation in this activity.

NURSING CONTINUING EDUCATION
Accreditation Statement: The Association of Nurses in AIDS Care (ANAC) is accredited as a provider of continuing nursing education by the American Nurses Credentialing Center's Committion on Accreditation.
Credit Designation Statement: ANAC designates this educational activity for a maximum of 20.25 CNE contact hours.
PHARMACIST CONTINUING EDUCATION
Accreditation Statement: Nova Southeastern University College of Pharmacy is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education as a provider of continuing pharmacy education. ACPE# 0092-9999-14-(10-16)-L-P. This program has been approved for up to 12.0 contact hours (1.2 CEUs). 

Applications are pending to provide continuing education for psychologists.

EXHIBITOR INFORMATION
Space is available to commercial and non-profit/government entities wishing to exhibit. The exhibit fee is $2,000-$4,000 for commercial entities (dependent on exhibit space), and $1,000 for non-profit/government entities. An exhibit fee is required for exhibitors. The costs subsidized by these fees are incremental to the exhibit spaces. We further stipulate that exhibit payments are not intended to influence the planning of or influence with presentations delivered at this activity.

EDUCATIONAL OBJECTIVES

After completing this activity, participants will be able to:

  • Summarize HIV treatment and biomedical prevention adherence state-of-the-science in relation to individual, community, and public health
  • Apply evidence-based strategies to enhance treatment adherence in order to mitigate drug resistance and achieve long-term virologic suppression
  • Integrate into clinical practice evidence-based interventions to improve linkage to and long-term engagement in care
  • Utilize patient engagement and adherence assessment tools to enhance adherence to HIV treatment and biomedical prevention

The Loews Miami Beach Hotel is the venue and official hotel for the 9th International Conference on HIV Treatment and Prevention Adherence. Public Transportation: The Airport Flyer provides an inexpensive ($2.35) express transit connection between Miami International Airport and Miami Beach, with service every 30 minutes from 6 a.m. to 11 p.m., seven days a week.
