Arriving from the Airport

There is public transportant from the airport, but it is less than ideal. The easiest transportation is via taxi or Uber/Lyft. Taxi's have a fixed rate of $36 for two people. For three or more passengers the rate is $15 per person. As everywhere, Uber and Lyft prices fluxuate with demand. If you use Uber or Lyft, wait until you are outside the airport terminal to set it up. Phones may be confused about their exact location if you are inside the terminal.

The Venue
The Hilton New Orleans Riverside is located on the banks of the Mississippi River in the Central Business District. The address is: 2 Poydras St., New Orleans, LA 70130. All NOISE-CON 2024 events will take place on the 3rd floor of the Hilton. Please click on the Floorplan link on the homepage for a floorplan of the conference area.

Family Friendly
We hope that people will bring their families to NOISE-CON 2024 and we will have some family friendly features. The Durham room will be set aside for nursing mothers and the Norwhich and Trafalgar rooms will be set up as quiet rooms for the duration of the conference. The hotel has provided the name of a company that provides childcare and noted that they will come to the hotel. You can reach them at: https://dependablecare.net/sample-page/  | Phone 504-486-5044. Note that NOISE-CON is providing this link as a convenience only and has no experience with this company.
There are some fun activities for children (and everyone) near the hotel. The Audubon Aquarium and Insectarium that is a short walk from the hotel. Mardi Gras World is another attraction that children are likely to enjoy. That's where many floats are made and stored. The Children's Museum in City Park is another fun desitination (they also have a great restaurant which is not just for kids).

Places to Eat in New Orleans
A favorite topic of conversation in New Orleans is food and which new restaurant is worth visiting. There are a huge number of restaurants in New Orleans and they range widely in price, quality, and cuisine. Rather than joining the subjective battle over the best restaurants, please see the links below for some suggestions. It's always best to call before going. Some restaurants book up a month in advance. Others may be closed on Monday, Tuesday, or even Wednesday.
