Sunday Night Film: The Quietest Year
Date: Sunday, June 8, 2025
Time: 7:30 to 9:00 am
Fee: Free
Filmed in Stowe, The Quietest Year (2020) is a contemplative, experimental documentary that captures the unusual, often unseen moments of life during the early days of the COVID-19 pandemic. Filmed in real-time, it follows a series of intimate, everyday scenes that reflect the profound shifts in the world as lockdowns and social distancing transform daily existence. The film weaves together the mundane and the extraordinary, documenting a sense of isolation, fear, and adjustment, while also highlighting the surprising beauty and quiet moments that emerge in a world forced to slow down. It's a meditation on time, change, and human resilience in a period of collective uncertainty. The producer/director, Karen Akins, will be on hand after the showing for questions and discussion.
